Which 8 kW Pellet Stove Should You Buy? Fan or No Fan, Single or Three Glass?
Prepared by: the Yak Gelsin teamLast updated:
Short answer: an 8 kW pellet stove heats about 75 m² with average insulation and 2.7 m ceilings (60 m² with poor, 90 m² with good insulation). The six 8 kW models of the Baba's Stove Eco family on our site cost 32,000 TL to 45,050 TL (VAT included, 20 October 2026).
The choice comes down to two questions: do you want a fan (data sheet: 220 V / 80 W for the fan only), and do you want to see the flame through one pane or from three sides?
What does each Eco model offer?
| Model | Fan | Glass | Hopper | Consumption | Efficiency | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eco Mini 8 | No | Single | — | — | — | 32,000 TL |
| Eco Mini Plus 8 | No | Three | — | — | — | 35,300 TL |
| Eco 8 | No | Single | 24 L / 15 kg* | 1–1.5 kg/h* | — | 37,750 TL |
| Eco Plus 8 | No | Three | 24 L / 15 kg* | 1–2 kg/h* | 81%* | 40,400 TL |
| Eco Fan 8 | Yes, 80 W* | Single | 24 L / 15 kg* | 1–2 kg/h* | 81%* | 42,400 TL |
| Eco Plus Fan 8 | Yes, 80 W* | Three | 24 L / 15 kg* | 1–2 kg/h* | 81%* | 45,050 TL |
Shared values: all six are manual, have a 130 mm flue outlet and are energy class A+ according to the manufacturer. The four models with a data sheet have a 4–8 kW output range, measure 47 × 52 × 90 cm (W×D×H), weigh 60 kg and burn pellets, wood and briquettes*. Efficiency is combustion efficiency at maximum output*. Eco 8's values come from the series sheet because it has no sheet of its own.
* manufacturer data sheet: the value was read from the data sheet or drawing image on the manufacturer's product page.

Fan or no fan?
The fanless Eco models give heat by radiation and natural air movement; per the data sheet they work on natural draught and need no electricity. The fan models (Eco Fan, Eco Plus Fan) blow warm air into the room, so heat spreads faster, at the cost of 220 V / 80 W for the fan and some noise. The price difference is 4,650 TL on both bodies (Eco 8 → Eco Fan 8 and Eco Plus 8 → Eco Plus Fan 8). In a long open-plan living room a fan helps carry heat to the far corner; in a small, closed room a fanless model is usually enough.
Single or three glass panes?
The "Plus" models have two side panes besides the front glass: the flame shows from three sides and the stove looks good closer to the middle of the room. Because the side panes radiate more heat, keep more distance to furniture and curtains than with a single-glass model. Three glass costs 2,650 TL more on the Eco body and 3,300 TL more on the Mini body.
How long does the hopper last?
With the data sheet's 15 kg hopper and 1–2 kg per hour: about 7.5 hours at full output (15 ÷ 2) and about 15 hours at the low setting (15 ÷ 1). For Eco 8 the sheet gives 1–1.5 kg/h, so 10–15 hours. Real consumption depends on pellet quality and settings; details in how many kilos a pellet stove burns per day.
What does it depend on?
- Area and insulation: By our table 8 kW means 60–90 m²; the manufacturer states a more cautious 40–50 m² for the Eco series. In a poorly insulated home with high ceilings, think closer to the manufacturer's figure; calculate with the stove sizing calculator and the kW–m² table.
- Larger area: Above 90 m² or in a cold climate, look at the 12 kW pellet stove class.
- Space: The Mini body is for narrow corners.
- Flue: These manual stoves need a 130 mm flue; do not confuse it with the 80 mm line of automatic pellet stoves (flue rules).
- Pellets: Damp, dusty pellets blacken the glass and raise consumption: how to recognise ENplus A1 pellets.

Safety note
No stove is "smokeless"; pellets, wood and coal all produce smoke and carbon monoxide as they burn. A flue of the right diameter that draws properly and leak-tight pipe joints are therefore essential. Use a carbon monoxide detector at home; with headache, dizziness or nausea, air the room, get outside and call 112: stove gas symptoms and carbon monoxide detectors.
Frequently asked questions
How many m² does an 8 kW pellet stove heat?
With 2.7 m ceilings, about 60 m² with poor, 75 with average and 90 with good insulation. The manufacturer states 40–50 m² for the Eco series, a more cautious figure.
How many kilos per hour does an 8 kW pellet stove burn?
The Eco Fan, Eco Plus and Eco Plus Fan sheet says 1–2 kg/h; the series sheet for Eco 8 says 1–1.5 kg/h.
Pellet stove with or without a fan?
With a fan for a long open-plan room; without for a small closed room and use without electricity. The fan draws 80 W; the difference is 4,650 TL.
What is the difference between Eco Mini and Eco 8?
Both are 8 kW, manual and have a 130 mm flue; Mini has a more compact body.
Can you burn wood in an Eco stove?
Per the data sheet the Eco family burns pellets, wood and briquettes. When burning wood use short, dry logs and leave no pellets in the hopper; the manual has the details.
