How Many m² Does a 12 kW Pellet Stove Heat? Flame Fan and Flame Plus Fan

Short answer: a pellet stove with 12 kW nominal output heats about 85 m² with poor insulation, 110 m² with average and 135 m² with good insulation in a home with 2.7 m ceilings (the 1 kW ≈ 9–11 m² rule for average insulation).

The two 12 kW fan models on our site are Baba's Stove Flame Fan at 45,050 TL and the three-glass Flame Plus Fan at 50,100 TL (VAT included, 20 October 2026). The manufacturer has not published a heating area for them; the m² values come from our own kW rule.

How many m² does 12 kW heat? (rule and correction)

Basis: European manufacturers' data sheets calculate heatable volume with a heat demand of 35 kcal/h per m³ for average insulation; we converted that to floor area with a 2.7 m ceiling, and the poor-insulation column is our assumption. What do the Flame Fan and Flame Plus Fan data sheets say?

The two models share one body; the difference is the side glass. With the sheet's consumption the 26 kg hopper lasts about 9 hours at full output (26 ÷ 2.8) and about 18 hours at the low setting (26 ÷ 1.4). The fan only spreads warm air; feeding is by gravity, so the stove itself is manual.

Is 12 kW too much for you?

Rule of thumb: your calculated demand should be 60–80% of the stove's nominal output. For 12 kW that means about 7–10 kW of demand, roughly 75–110 m² with average insulation. What does it depend on?

• Open plan or rooms? A fan stove heats the area it stands in; little heat reaches side rooms with closed doors.
• Climate: In a cold TS 825 degree-day zone, lean towards the left column of the table.
• Ceiling height: With ceilings of 3 m or more, reduce the m² value by about 10%.
• Flue: 130 mm and a good draught; flue rules.

Safety note

No stove is "smokeless"; pellets, wood and coal all produce smoke and carbon monoxide as they burn. A flue of the right diameter that draws properly and leak-tight pipe joints are therefore essential. Only the glass: Plus has three panes. Output, hopper, consumption and dimensions are the same on the sheet; the price difference is 5,050 TL.

Does the Flame stove need electricity?

Only for the fan: 220 V / 80 W. Feeding and combustion are manual.
