Petra Classic Decorative Fire Pit Outdoor Fireplace XL

Brand: Petra Şömine

/ Standard

Petra Classic Fire Pit XL is an outdoor fireplace with an open fire area in the middle of a stone-look square body; manufacturer photos show it on a terrace in a seating area with a sea view. The "XL" is the wider-bodied version compared with the standard model. Who it is for: hotel and restaurant terraces, villa gardens, rooftop seating areas; anyone wanting a central fire to gather around in the evening. Ordering is not advised until the body material (concrete/stone/composite) and fuel (wood, pellets or ethanol) are clear. Use note: an outdoor product; do not light it indoors, under a balcony ceiling or under an awning. Keep combustible materials away from the fire area and extinguish embers fully after use.

What to look for when choosing a fireplace

Freestanding or built-in?

A cast-iron fireplace stove stands in the room and connects to the flue. A built-in insert goes into the wall and is clad around, so the opening must be measured on site before installation.

Indoors or outdoors?

Garden fireplaces are made for terraces and gardens and must not be used indoors. For a living room, models with a glass door are preferred.

Closed fire

A fireplace with a glass door gives off heat in a more controlled way than an open fireplace and stops sparks reaching the room.

Flue and location

Check the draw of the flue and the clearance to combustible surfaces (wood, curtains, furniture) before installation.

The right firewood

Burn well-seasoned hardwood (oak, beech). Green wood gives little heat, smokes heavily and coats the glass and flue with soot.

Safe use

Have the chimney swept before every heating season.
Fit a carbon monoxide detector in any home with a stove or fireplace.
Keep flammable items away from the stove and keep children away from hot surfaces.
Never burn plastic, painted wood or rubbish; use only the fuel suited to the appliance.
