If you searched for "wood pellet prices", this article will not give you a figure. The reason is simple: the price of wood pellets changes from month to month, from seller to seller and from address to address; a figure written today would be wrong in a few weeks. So we do not publish the price on our site and send the current one on WhatsApp instead. What we cover here are the three decisions that really affect what you pay: a few bags or a pallet, 15 kg or 20 kg bags, and when to buy.
Why is there no single price for wood pellets?
Wood pellets are made from sawdust, the by-product of another industry; the availability of sawdust, the energy spent on drying and pressing, the quality class of the pellets, the season and the delivery distance together set the price. We go through each of these factors in what determines the price of pine pellets and will not repeat them here. This article is about the decisions that are in your hands.
A few bags or a pallet?
We sell wood pellets in 15 kg and 20 kg bags. Orders of 1,200 kg or more are delivered as bags on pallets: the bags arrive stacked on a pallet. So a "pallet" is not a separate product; it is how the same bags are delivered in a large order.
Who is a few bags right for?
- Anyone trying pellets for the first time: you may not want to buy the whole winter's supply before seeing how your stove burns them.
- Anyone short of dry, closed storage: pellets left somewhere damp take up moisture and crumble.
- Anyone living near our depot: in the free delivery area it is easy to top up during the season.
Who is a pallet right for?
- Anyone who knows their seasonal need and wants to buy it in one go.
- Anyone with a closed, dry place (garage, store room, basement) that a pallet can get into.
- Anyone who wants a single delivery: with a large order the vehicle is filled in one trip, and labour and haulage per kilogram fall. That is why the unit price for a few bags is not the same as for a pallet load.
To convert a quantity into bags:
- 1,200 kg = 80 bags of 15 kg, or 60 bags of 20 kg.
- 1 ton = about 67 bags of 15 kg, or 50 bags of 20 kg.
- 2,400 kg = 160 bags of 15 kg, or 120 bags of 20 kg.
15 kg bags or 20 kg bags?
The pellets inside are the same; the difference is the size of the packaging. Look at two things when deciding:
- Price per kilogram: The price of a 15 kg bag cannot be compared directly with that of a 20 kg bag. Convert every quote to a price per kilogram by dividing the bag price by the weight of the bag.
- Carrying and use: A 15 kg bag is easier to carry and to tip into the hopper; with 20 kg bags you open fewer bags for the same amount of pellets. Your stove's manual says how many kilograms the hopper holds; if you will not finish an opened bag, close the top.
How many wood pellets should I buy?
The seasonal need depends on the heat loss of the house, the efficiency of the stove and how many hours a day you run it; it can differ several times over between two homes. We show step by step how to work it out for your own home in how many pellets you need for a winter; for a rough estimate you can use the fuel calculator. If this is your first winter, it is safer to buy part of the need, see your consumption and then top up.
When should you buy wood pellets?
Wood pellets are a heating fuel: demand rises in autumn, peaks in mid-winter, and delivery times can lengthen. So:
- If you have somewhere dry to keep them, buy before the season starts. When demand is low you can discuss both the price and the delivery day more comfortably, and you will not be hunting for pellets in mid-winter.
- If you do not, buy in parts. Pellets bought cheaply that have taken up moisture and crumbled are expensive. Two or three deliveries are better than months of storage in poor conditions.
- If you live at altitude or somewhere the road gets difficult in winter, complete your seasonal supply in autumn, while the roads are easy.
We make no promise such as "pellets are always so much cheaper in summer"; the price is set by the raw material and demand of the day. Asking for the current price costs nothing.
Delivery is part of the price
Wood pellets are heavy and take up space; when weighing up a quote, always ask about delivery. Our depot is in Ödemiş, İzmir, and we deliver to addresses within 350 km by road. Ödemiş, Tire, Bayındır, Kiraz and Beydağ are in our free delivery area; within İzmir Province we also charge no delivery fee on orders of 5 tons or more. Elsewhere the delivery fee depends on quantity and distance and is given with the quote.
What to ask when comparing two quotes
- How many kilograms is the bag, and what is the price per kilogram?
- Does the bag carry the ENplus quality seal and ID number, and which class is it (A1 / A2)?
- Which wood: pine, hardwood or mixed?
- Does the diameter suit your appliance (6 mm / 8 mm)?
- Is the price delivered, and are haulage and VAT included?
- Will it come on pallets, and what is the delivery day?
Getting the current wood pellet price
Just tell us how many bags (15 kg or 20 kg) you want and your delivery address (district and neighbourhood): ask for the current wood pellet price on WhatsApp (+90 531 585 62 29).
