Types of Central Heating Coal
Central Heating Coal (Nut Size)
Small-size (10-18 mm) bright nut coal, screened specially for stoker (automatic) boilers. It does not form clinker, does not clog the boiler and gives high efficiency.
Central Heating Coal (Walnut Size)
Medium-size (30-50 mm) bright walnut coal. Imported, of Siberian origin, 7800-8200 kcal/kg (dry basis). Well suited to hand-fed central heating boilers and stoves; it burns for a long time.

The right coal for your boiler
Stoker (automatic feed) boiler → nut size
In a stoker boiler an auger carries the coal from the hopper to the burner by itself. Small, evenly screened nut-size coal is used so that the auger runs without jamming.
Central Heating Coal (Nut Size) — 10 - 18 mm
Hand-fed boiler → walnut size
In a hand-fed boiler the coal burns on the grate. Larger walnut-size pieces keep air moving between them, and the boiler needs loading less often.
Central Heating Coal (Walnut Size) — 30 - 50 mm
Every boiler manual states the recommended fuel and size; follow the manual first. If you are not sure, send us the make and model of your boiler on WhatsApp and we will look at it together.
