The right coal for your boiler
Stoker (automatic feed) boiler → nut size
In a stoker boiler an auger carries the coal from the hopper to the burner by itself. Small, evenly screened nut-size coal is used so that the auger runs without jamming.
Central Heating Coal (Nut Size) →Hand-fed boiler → walnut size
In a hand-fed boiler the coal burns on the grate. Larger walnut-size pieces keep air moving between them, and the boiler needs loading less often.
Central Heating Coal (Walnut Size) →The boiler manual comes first
Every boiler manual states the recommended fuel and size; follow the manual first. If you are not sure, send us the make and model of your boiler on WhatsApp and we will look at it together.
